This was started by the Panama City Beach Fire Department in the 1970s when my grandfather was chief and my dad was a fire fighter. My grandfaher was the first ever beach santa! When I was growing I would be like the kids on the back handing out candy. I think its cool that the police department helps out too covering different sections of the beach.
